Description
A "Bastide" is a small fortified town built in the Middle Ages. The clay-limestone soils of the Var produce elegant Pinot Noirs. Maison Louis Latour, renowned in Burgundy since 1797, has been producing Pinot Noir in the South of France since 1989. The Domaine de Valmoissine, located on the site of a former monastery at an altitude of 500 meters, offers a superb landscape of vines with bright red soils. This location guarantees good sunshine during the summer months while benefiting from nighttime coolness. The ideal southern exposure of the vines brings the grapes to perfect maturity. Yields are low to ensure the maturity and concentration of the grapes which consistently produce high quality wines. The result is an elegant wine of remarkable finesse.

Tasting
Tasting note
With a beautiful ruby color with garnet reflections, the Pinot Noir “Les Bastides” is intense on the nose with aromas of morello cherry. Round and harmonious on the palate, the tannins are supple and subtle notes of dried flowers emerge. The aromas of red fruits and spices balance each other perfectly and will pair wonderfully with simple dishes, meats in sauce and cheeses. A seductive wine.
